A gallery of pictures taken during 'Phyllis's' visit to the Clyde in July 2013. She enjoyed what is probably the best overall mid-summer weather in the last decade.
Our sailing took us from Peel (IOM) to Portpatrick > East Loch Tarbet > Lochranza > Largs > Rhu > Inverkip > Largs > Girvan > Portpatrick > Peel (IOM).
We were very fortunate and met Mike Greenwood a descendant of the Greenwood brothers, previous family owners of the RMRC 'Avis'. Mike was delighted to see us and presented 'Phyllis' with the West Cheshire Sailing Club Burgee flown by 'Avis' in her halcyon days. A wonderful gesture.
The majority of the photographs in this gallery are kindly provided by Mike Greenwood and his close friend Neil Wilson taken from Mike's yacht 'Wild Rover'. Mike is standing in the pulpit on his beloved yacht 'Wild Rover' shown below.
The photographs from Rhu are provided by my friend Douglas Crocket, of ScotRIB fame, from his yacht 'Obelix'.
